Jordan Matthews, now Jordan Buser (Spoiler alert!), is someone whom Cynthia and I know all too well. I met Jordan back in 2012 when we were still young and naive to the world, but not when it came to frozen yogurt (Seriously, we were frozen yogurt connoisseurs). We were both employed at Tutti Frutti to make some money on the side while we went to school. Jordan exuded a personality of one who is caring and understanding. It is no wonder she is currently employed as a nurse after achieving her degree in nursing at Augusta University (formally known as Georgia Regents University formally known as Augusta State University - residents of Augusta will understand).
However, this post is not about her past, but the momentous day when two people who love each another agree to stay together forever and ever and ever until death do they part (probably even after). So, who was the man that took our Jordan away? Curt Buser. Jordan and Curt met when they were only eleven in the middle of nowhere Appling, Georgia before parting ways to focus on their lives. Fast forward to the future, they met each other once again before Curt was deployed for the military. However, this time there was no going back. Their relationship blossomed overseas until Curt knew he could not let Jordan go. The proposal was on the night of Curt's military ball where he executed his mischievous plan. Apparently, the military plays a game that makes someone drink if anything is wrong with their uniform. Curt purposefully messed up his uniform so he would get called up to the stage. His superior, who was also in on this plan, called Jordan up as well. As Jordan walked up, Curt got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage. Obviously, she said yes! They both took a shot to commemorate their engagement.
Fast forward again to November 19th, 2016 (Exactly one year ago!). Wedding day. Jordan was nervous and excited, but also tired because she did not get enough sleep. The anticipation must have been too much for her. After getting ready, Jordan was eager to see Curt for their first look. She walked down to the lake Curt was facing and tapped his shoulder. He turned around, looked at her, and started to cry! This made Jordan cry in return. So they were both crying! (Do not fret. Her makeup was still beautiful. Waterproof everything, ladies and gentlemen.) After they cleaned up and took their photos, it was time for the ceremony. Jordan said as she was walking down the aisle, all she could see was Curt and his smile and she could not wait to be his wife. (Super cheesy! Her words, not mine.)
Jordan, if you are reading this, I hope you live with little doubt and fear about your future with one another. I hope you will be the first thing Curt sees in the morning and the last before he sleeps. I hope your lives will be fruitful and memorable so that when you are old and wrinkly and crusty, you can state without hesitation that you would do it all over again if you could. However, never forget who you were because Jordan Buser could not exist without Jordan Matthews.
